Today we drove up to Civita de Bagnoregio and then to Bolsena on the shores of Lake Bolsena. Civita is a small town with only a few residents that is on a rock outcropping. It is spectacular. Bagnoregio is a regular town that it is connected to. We had lunch in Civita, then headed back thru Bagnoregio and on to Bolsena. The lake is big, warm and in a volcanic crater. It has a few islands like Crater Lake, but is big like Lake Tahoe, and warmer than Lake Washington. We didn't have our suits so we waded.
Peggy walked around the castle in town, while I sat by the water and walked down there. The castle has been made into apartments.
Real estate is expensive here. On the scale of California. And for that you get something that has had the electrical and water/sewer added. We saw places where the bathrooms are on the decks (makes plumbing easier). We have our bathtub in the bedroom, with the drain on top of the floor.
Our day was good. We saw enough, ate dinner in the room (salad again) and are getting ready to head to Rome for one night tomorrow. I'm not sure about posting photos from Rome, but will post a written text.
