This weekend is a big weekend in Volterra. The flag competition is going on in the main square. That means it is crowded, for Volterra, but not hot, thank goodness. We spent the morning at the Etruscan Museum, which is third to the Louvre and the British museums in their collection of Etruscan artifacts. The Etruscans were here, literally, before Christ, before the romans.
I'll attach photos from the last two days, Sienna and Volterra. Tomorow we'll stop at San Giamangio on our way to Florence. We drop off the car there. It is supposed to be hot again, 90 on Tuesday in Florence, the day we are seeing the Uffizi and Accademia.
We are getting used to driving in Italy, just in time to get ready to turn the car in. We are also getting used to having mezzo litre vino bianco for lunch and dinner.
Hopefully we won't keep that up when we get home. It does make the slow pace here easier to deal with.
