Why is it that I seem to come to Rome when it is too hot. We left Soriano by.bus for Orte, caught a train to Rome dropped our bag off at our hotel and headed out. After an early lunch we got on one of the hop on hop offf tourist busses. Unfortunately it was too hot to sit on top. We got off at the Victor emanuel monument, then walked around the forum, past the circus maximus to the colluseum. We did a walking tour of the collusuem and Palantine hill, the took the metro to the spanish steps. We had dinner nearby then walked to the trevi fountaina and the pantheon. It was closed. Then we walked back to our hotel and found our room, which is in a different biulding. That was an adventure. We are safely locked in and getting ready to crash. Tomorrow we have a 9 am tour of the vatican and st peters.
